I am off to teneriffe shortly to lorro park ,mount tide,etc,
would it be worth taking my niffty 50 lens and leave it on ;
would this lens to the job for what i need ? or is it just for portraits.?.
thanks.

Good question, same goes for me, I will look to see what answers you get

I would want something alot wider than a nifty fifty if your planning some scenic work, assuming your on a crop that is.

nifty fifty is fine if you plan on standing a long way back - not sure you can stand far enough away from mount tide though without being on a boat!

so in summary - take something wider

Ooooh I'm off there in the morning - I'll be the one with a battered 400d and fifty trying to discretely do some street stuff, will have a card full of blurs and feet no doubt:lol:

Murphy's law dictates that if you leave it at home, you'll wish you had it with you on holiday!

I probably take too much but I take zooms from 12-300 (3 lenses) as well as an 8mm fisheye and sometimes a 50mm and a 90mm Macro. I do leave the good tripod at home though (would love to take it but weight's already an issue so don't need to push it!) and just take a Gorillapod SLR Zoom with a ball head and a Pod (mini beanbag) instead.
