Hi all,

Just looking for a bit of help.
I've got a last minute shoot tomorrow. They've asked if it can be in their own home...fine. Been told the photos will be a gift for their grandparents.

But when speaking to her today I found out theres 5 people going to be in the shot. Ages ranging from 6 months - 15 years.

I'm wondering whether that's too many people to be standing on the paper. I have not seen the size of the house yet either (eek)
Hopefully some of the younger ones will be able to sit on knee's etc. Having only ever had no more than 3 people on set at a time, those 2 extras seem quite scary haha

So I've made this thread as I'm after some advice/tips that anyone has.

I've searched the forums and found some useful tips for getting people relaxed here http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showpost.php?p=327471&postcount=3

Anyone have any posing ideas for getting the group shot? Or just advice in general will be a great help.
All the shoots I've done so far were of children all under 8 years old, so working with teenagers seems a bit scary.

All help appreciated.

Daniel

I'm no Pro, but really, as the 6 month is baby, unless they are in a chair/crib, they will be held. So really you have 4 subjects, with one holding them.

You could lie baby on floor, with the other four kneeling, peering in.

Or have on eholding the baby sat cross legged, with the other three pocking out from behind, 2 heads on side, one on the other.

Also think of some good words to have them say to keep the attention - watch the birdie, Knickers, etc.etc.

I would be aware of the baby and crying - you may have to work fast under lights - you may have to do a "venture" and add little headshots of the baby in if it is not in a good mood.

Good Luck

i would refrain from the word "Knickers" as Lawrie says as if working with teenagers it might get a tad embarrasing for you probably not them and in light of all the nonsense talk about taking pics of kids etc etc id just avoid saying anything to do with knickers if theres a teen girl present

"mum he definatly said show us your knickers":bonk:

just not worth it
