Hello,

'Should' be heading to Cadwell park this weekend for a Club meeting (cars). Just wanted to know peoples thoughts on its potential for photography and any decent sample shots they might like to share?

Would also be useful to know any particular corners/straights people recommend as I will only have limited time on the day and want to maximise the reason for my 2 hour drive!

Thanks,

Tom

Depending on how busy the meeting is and assuming you have no track access I would be getting my flask beside me and sitting at the 'Mountain' grandstand looking down into the corner, I guess the cars do the Mountain section ? In fact I don't know if they do so I will butt out - sorry ?

But what's it like for photography? Can you get close to the track like Mallory, or is it more like Donington/Silverstone and set back?

Reason I ask is I don't want to take a 2 hour trek into deepest Lincolnshire and find that I am surrounded by high fences and poor chances for decent photos.

Can't imagine the meet being too busy, it is a club meet for Fords that's all.

yes you can get close to the track & theres no high fences like donington
the top of the mountain is good but only a small grandstand that soon gets full.
but if its only a club meet you may be o.k

another good spot is hall bends ,the track is amongst the woods at that poin t if they are using the full track .

theres also a spot before the mountain where you are looking down on the track

ive just had a look and it seems they will be using the full circuit.

Yes you can get close to the track at Cadwell from the public side of the fences.

It's a fantastic circuit for photography to the media accredited but should still offer plenty of atmospheric options to the amateur photographer.

Have a look at my site (www.copeimages.com) at the "DSC Cadwell" trackday gallery taken this Monday and Tuesday at Cadwell or my BSB Cadwell Gallery from 2007. That will give you an idea of the terrain. Mine were taken with full media access so you will not get to all the places I did.

I'm going later in the season for a double-header weekend - hopefully will get accreditation.

If that is the beginning of September one I should be there too...

Yup CSCC, I think I've got 3 more CSCC events this year, so we're bound to meet up. Your number is in my phone now too.

I've got Anglesey, Oulton Park, Cadwell Park and Snetterton to come. Anglesey, Cadwell and Snetterton are double-headers so will have to camp overnight. Fortunately Snett is my home circuit and I can go home each night :)
