Hi all am looking at getting into shooting portraits and just wondered what lenses are good for this kind of work. I have a canon 60d with a kit lens at the moment so need something better.
For the 60d I'd start with the Canon 50mm f/1.8. New for about £80 and great iq. Then, think about maybe The Canon 35mm f/2 or the Sigma 30mm f/1.4. But as always, it depends on your budget.
You might also want to consider a slightly longer prime for portraits (100mm)- if your subject is a little uncomfortable then you don't have to be quite so close, to help ease them a little. (One tip I read on a portrait guide!)
