Has anybody been diagnosed with it?
How do you fare now and what were you given in way of treatments?

I ask because I have had a cough now for a good few months, had infection checks and x-rays and they have come back fine! But any sort of exercise sets me off! (Started walking up to Bamford Edge earlier and made it about half way up before coughing to the point of being physically ill).

So it's back to doctors next week but wondering what to expect if we go down that route?

Thanks

I have been living with it for over 20 years (72 now) and use 2 inhalers, 1 preventer 1 reliever. First one in morning and last thing at night, the second when needed (not that often)
I am still a walker/hiker and get on with my life. Big hills are out now, but more due to age than the condition!
It's only 8 years since I gave up climbing/caving/abseiling/MTBing so don't be too discouraged, get to the doctors, get the tests done and take it from there.

Mrs F was also diagnosed 20 years ago. She is a horse owner and also an equine body worker so she had a lot of issues with hay and straw and was constantly using an inhaler. A couple of years ago, she was prescribed a Seretide inhaler that she uses first thing in the morning. She rarely uses the standard blue inhaler now and leads a full and active life.

There was a professional Rugby League player a few years ago who had asthma, he was even seen to use his inhaler during a live TV game. So don't be fearful as, if you are diagnosed, it's very manageable and doesn't have to adversely affect your life.

Thanks for the reassurance!

In space of 6 months I've gone from doing a Triathlon to not being able to walk up a moderate hill. :sorry::(
