Adobe Student/Teacher purchase

My wife purchased Lightroom 3 using the Adobe Student/Teacher purchase scheme, very reasonable price, but obtaining a verification number is a less than pleasant experience

Attached her school id and a payslip to the online form which then just sat there for two days, then after I have rung it also seems they need a proof of purchase too. Maybe I missed that requirement, but surely the product code I provided and the serial number from the slip inside the box would prove we actually had it

For a large company their customer service is dreadful, one chap i spoke to was downright stroppy and as ever the lines to the sub-continent are of poor quality

Now waiting for the verification code to get the thing authorised, just wonder if my experience is the norm or I just got unlucky.

Nah, they are a pain to deal with. When lightroom 2 came out I bought a licence and had the sale revoked because I had already bought a copy less than 12 months before. I had to phone and jump through hoops to get them to acknowledge that moving from lightroom 1 to lightroom 2 was a valid reason to buy more than 1 lightroom licence per year.

It took me about 3 weeks to get my licence key, and they said that they email it to you, but I had to go on the online customer support and they gave me it over the chat support.
After 6 previous attempts,and i didn't have to give proof of purchase.

I swear they make it so difficult to get that it's much easier just to get an illegal copy for free :shrug:
