Adobe CS5 Upgrade - US site $199, about £128
Adobe CS5 Upgrade - UK site £190

Did someone mention highwaymen?

Yep, loads of people and for a looong time lol ;)
Old news, we get ripped on the 1-1 dollar gbp and prob always will....

Adobe's European pricing policy has long been a bone of contention. They argue that it's because of all the extra localisation they have to do for the different European markets, not to mention the complexities of having to deal with differing rules and regulations within Europe.

Basically it sucks.

Extra localisation is rubbish, they have a US site where the software can be downloaded but not if you're in the UK ... unless you are a US serviceman/woman serving in Europe!
What extra does it cost them for me to download from the UK?

It is a 2 way street I have had UK sites that will not sell to me in the US. The BBC site has news stories that will not come up in the US!

and google.com forces me to google.co.uk ... boom, boom!

I agree with everything your saying, which is why I have no problem with anybody running hooky copies of adobe CS if it's for personal messing around use only.

Just for the record I do have CS4 on my machine, but I use Aperture 99% and elements 1% of the time for photo work - both of which I paid for.

i paid £53 for elements 9 off amazon whereas adobe wanted £70 just for the download and £75 for the cd.

Well I'm in quite a good mood about Adobe as a matter of fact, I've just bought my son (the student) CS5 extended for £169.. and can I say he's delighted with it....;) ;)
