Just a little info needed.

I downloaded portrait pro to a desk top PC and the PC decided it had had enough and packed up, seeing as I downloaded the product i did not have a disc to re load it so tried many times to get in touch with the people who make potrait pro to no avail so dipped out big style.

If you do the same with say light room or photoshop, i.e down load from adobe website and get the key code off them what happens if your pc goes bust as you do not have the disc to re load??

thanks spike

When you originally download, make sure you activate the software and register it with your Adobe account - that way if you lose it can re-download from Adobe and you have a record there of the serial no in order to get it going again.

Thanks guys i thought thats what it would be but not done it before was not sure

This seems to be changing as they move to Creative Cloud, on another forum I am on someone computer crashed & they lost their digital copy of CS5, they cold not down load it again as PS is now not available as a demo software (I am told)

Lightroom download comes as a .zip or .dmg file. You have to unpack these to install the program. Just keep a copy of these files to save downloading again.

Alternatively order a hard copy of the program from Amazon or similar.

I take a backup of every piece of software I own, just in case the disk gets lost or damaged or the original downloaded file gets corrupted.
maybe it's something you could do from now on.
