Hello all...as above really

I recently picked up a mother of a virus which forced me to redo my system completely...reinstalled Windoze and all the rest and noe PS CS2 won't work properly...

Trying to crop an image and it tells me scratch volumes full or something silly like that.

Now I have dealt with this kind of thing in the past but would appreciate some pointers here.

SECONDLY...camera raw in elements 5...trying to help a friend to get that going...keeps telling me the "wrong file type"

What am I missing?

Cheers and thanks in advance.

Part 2 sorted:bonk::bonk:

Got the latest compatible acr plugin into elements and all sorted:thumbs:

Part 1 to worry about now...

couple of things to check:
make sure your scratch disk is on a different drive to the prog drive - and check the size allocated to it - EDIT - PREFERENCES
Check you have te latest version of ACR - early versions may not support the file if it's from a recent camera model - download from adobe.com

edit: too slow typing!

Cool and thanks for the response

The ACR + elements 5 is sorted...

The scratch volumes worry me a bit...I run PS CS2 on a rather old lappie with only one HDD and it works OK but I think I might to delete the contents of the temp files...

BUT, it is a fresh installation so:thinking::thinking::thinking::shrug:

Hope it isn't some bug that stayed behind...scratch volume info displays correctly but can't even crop an image...

Really puzzled

How much RAM is allocated to photoshop - try around 70% of available. NB if you change it you'll have to re-start PS for the change to take effect.

Hi there

Did that, set it to 80% ( of 1.5 Gb RAM) Somehow seems to work fine now...like it snapped out of confusion all by itself...

The joy of pc platforms and the biggest virus of all times...Windoze...

Now where did I put that Mac brochure...:D
