I have a friend who's using Lightroom 1.4 and she just upgraded from the D40 to the D90, but she's unable to import any of her pictures.

I was wondering if Lightroom 1.4 does support the D90 or not.

Can someone please shed some light on this for me.

Thanks :)

You'd need to check the Adobe site, but your suspicions could be correct that 1.4 does not support the D90.

All is not lost LR 1.4 will support DNG files so downlaod the free DNG converter. Convert your files to DNG and that should work. Alternatively upgrade to version2.x of lightroom.

Thank you, I know of the support issue; since I used to use LR 1.1 until I got the D300, that's when I found out that LR 1.1 doesn't support the D300. Since the D90 was released well after the D300, I am inclined to believe that it, too, isn't supported.

As for the idea of DNG conversion, though it's a workaround for the issue; but I am not too keen on the added processing step for this. I figure the best solution would be to advise her to upgrade to LR 2, as you've suggested, and as I've had to do.

Again, thank you for the feedback.
