Adobe Elements - New user help please ?

I'm totally new to Digital manipulation although no stranger to developing and processing in a wet lab so i'm familiar with dodging, burning masks etc.

I have downloaded Elements 10 but the supporting material is not all that helpful. The software looks daunting, to start off I would like to darken / enhance the sky and maybe add a bit of vignette.

I''m at the stage where I haven't even managed to get my image on to the screen yet, Please could someone kindly direct me to some very basic information on how to do this or some video links ?

I just picked up Elements aswell...

The Vignette controls are under Filter > Correct Camera Distortion option.
 
Easy

Right click on the photo you want to edit and it should come up with "open with " then a dropdown list with elements10 should be on that list. click on the elements listed and elements with your pic should be on your screen

Tip

make a copy first of the photo and work on that not the original

Thanks both I'm going to have to search you tube tomorrow I think or invest in a basic CD lesson.
 
In elements9 and presumerably 10 on the help file there are demo videos from adobe on how to do. Realspeed

Ummm, just noticed that it hasn't been released yet, but it's due out on the 23rd - Christmas list?
