As Apple OsX still hasn't got round to supporting the Oly e-620 raw format, I've been told I can use the above program to convert them to DNG's then will again be able to import to iphoto for organising and LR for editing.

My question is this - do the raws lose any quality in the process of being converted from orf to dng? If not this is an added step in the work-flow, but at least I can get back to shooting raw and rescuing some pics again!

Thanks

Can't vouch for the Olympus format, but i've regularly converted Canon .CR2 files to .DNG's for mate to use with his older copies of PS, and had no quality issues. Just had a quick look at a directory i'd got of CR2 and DNG files and the DNG's were also a wee bit smaller - though I think that this may be due to me converting the files and making the .jpg preview as medium size rather than full size. I'd certainly think that any minor losses that may be incurred in conversion would be outweighed by being able to use raw files rather than the .jpg files.

The DNG format should work for that.

Just a quick question though, have you tried the organisation features in Lightroom? It seems strange to be using two applications that do the same thing.

Adobe cliam theres no loss of quality using the DNG converter.
