I bought Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended Student and Teacher Edition last year off the back of an OU course, for the not so princely sum of £162, so a good deal there I feel.

Now CS6 has been announced, I understand there is no 'Student and Teacher' upgrade price, but you are entitled to purchase a normal upgrade, turning the Student and Teacher edition into a full one.

A full CS6 Extended license costs £952
An upgrade from CS5 Extended to CS6 Extended is £370

The thing is, I can buy another full copy of Photoshop Extended CS6 Student and Teacher Edition for just £188.

Am I missing some hidden option?
 
I am interested in the same and I think those are your only options

Shame they didn't come up with a competitive pricing structure similar to that of Lightroom 4 this year, although the Cloud options might be good. At the moment its giving £22.46 per month for the full Creative Cloud Education version for a year. Giving access to every single Adobe product.

It also appears Lightroom will form part of the Creative Cloud. Shame I just spent £60 on upgrading to LR4...
