Yes
Just finished building my new machine and currently have no editing software installed. I have copies of lightroom 4 and photoshop CS4 which I have been happily using up until now.
Lightroom is my go to program which I use for everything, Potatoshop gets used very infrequently. Am I going to see any real benefit for my £8.57 a month?

Yes... both have moved on a long way since CS4 and LR4 and they integrate far better. And are constantly updated to keep pace with new cameras.
I moved on from CS3 and LR4 a couple of years ago.

Agreed, LR6cc is very powerful now and they've just added some nifty new features like content aware cropping / rotating.

Integrates really well with photoshop too but the times you need to do that are getting even fewer and farther between. Also means you'll be covered if you get a new camera, lots of the modern ones (and not so modern now) aren't supported in LR4.

Thanks guys, that's me sold, got it installing now.

Does lightroom 6 still benefit from mogrify or are those features in the standard installation now?

Yes, just do it! Upgrades alone are worth the monthly cost.

i have been wondering this as ive been using PS cs2 and lightroom 3 for years now and dont feel particularly hard done by. Not sure i need super duper PS, but have DL trial of LR6 to see if i want to buy it stand alone. better make my mind up in 30 days :-)

I was upgrading my Lightroom every year at a cost of £70 (or whatever the upgrade price is at present). I then saw Adobe CC on Amazon for £79 a year. It was a no brainer to pay the same money but get Photoshop too. Since then I've actually upgraded to the full Adobe suite, seeing as a I use InDesign, After Effects, Premier and Audition.

I used to use Photoshop for everything, then when I started taking a lot more pictures Lightroom CC was recomended. To be honest I wish I'd switched a long time ago. Photoshop is good but it seems like such overkill now for almost all my post editing. With a CC subscription you get the latest versions of both so if I need to use it I can, and it links seamlessly together, but it's not very often as Lightroom does most things a lot easier.

No.

You have application software that as you pointed out, you have been "happily using", and if they are still working fine with your current machine, then why replace them with updated ones? You know what they say: If it aren't broken, don't fix it.

I have a 64-bit Windows 7 Professional Edition on a AMD FX6 machine with 32GB, but I actually still use Microsoft Office 97 which I installed on my current machine and still use it to type up letter, memos, reports, and many other stuff with MS Word, also using Excel for records, and even using Access for database. I'm doing fine, no problems there.

Who says you can't use bows and arrows just because in the modern world, we use guns and bullets?

Feel free to upgrade if you wish, but why bother? Unless you really need some of those options that LR CC and PS CC have, which you really need to use, then by all means, upgrade.

Plus your LR 4 and PS CS4, they are fully paid for by you, and you can use them even if your computer is offline.

Whereabouts with LR CC and PS CC, you have to rent it every month, plus your applications need to check with Adobe that you did pay your membership, so you can carry on using it. Fail to pay your monthly costs, your application software gets locked or limited until you cough up the monthly fee.

Any real benefits in paying £8.57 a month depends on if you do actually use any of those new options that your current LR 4 do not have. If you don't use this menu, this option, this setting that LR CC have, which LR 4 do not have, then you may as well have stick with your LR 4, but if you do use what LR CC have, then it would be of some benefits to you.
