Adobe Camera Raw

I'm just getting used to shooting in raw then using Elements 9 with the camera raw plug in, before converting to jpeg for my Pentax K5.

Who decided on the preset for each type of camera - do the manufacturers pass info to Adobe or does Adobe have a bit of play around to decide which settings to put up for the presets for each camera?

How many of you use the settings as they are (especially the sharpening and noise ones) or do you tweak each photo individually.

Adobe reverse engineer the presets.

I use Lightroom (which is a different interface onto Camera Raw) and I'm starting to have a standard set of changes which are used as the basis of a starting point for further development.

You really need to spend a little time with RAW to see how it works best for your photo styles and camera.
