Adobe Bridge, moving keywords around.

I'm attempting to "clean-up" my keyword list within adobe bridge and I have come across a snag or two. Here is a sample listing where the bold words and the main keywords and the rest are subs

Places
Buttermere (ticked)
Windermere
Keswick
Cockermouth
Lakes
Derwentwater
Thirlmere
Rydal

In Bridge's METADATA tab I have a photo of Buttermere selected and the keyword "Buttermere" has been added from under the main "Places" keyword. I want to move the Buttermere keyword and place it under the main keyword "Lakes", and I can do that easily dragging and dropping it to the new area. Job done....you would think.

But what actually happens is that the keyword will move under its new heading "Lakes" but will leave the same keyword behind in "Places", only now its in italics.

Places
Buttermere (ticked) (<--Now italicised)
Windermere
Keswick
Cockermouth
Lakes
Derwentwater
Thirlmere
Rydal
Buttermere (ticked)

If I right click "Buttermere" under places and choose to delete it it just stays where it is, same thing if I use the trash can to delete it. If I select another photo in the folder I can delete the keyword under Places but as soon as I clickthe original photo...the keyword magically returns under places once again.

So my question is...how can I clean up my list without going back through all my photos and adding keywords once again?

Many thanks!

I've found one workaround, again using the above examples.

Search for "Buttermere" when search is done, select all of them now untick the italicised keyword Buttermere in Places and delete the keyword, now tick the new keyword Buttermere in Lakes and your done.

Still quite a bit of work to be done when going through 8 years of Photo's, so if anyone has an easier/more expedient way of doing things then please chip in.
