Hi,

Im using premier pro CS5 to piece together a video shot with my 5Dii, i have sound recorded on the camera too and would like to put some background music onto the film.

I have tried to drop it onto a layer but when i do this is overlaps my camera recorded sound.

Could someone give me an idea of where i may have gone wrong please.

Thank you

Wayne

Do you mean that you have two audio tracks on the same section of video. Or is it that one audio track overlaps part of another?

I have tried to drop it onto a new layer but it goes onto the layer already in use, and replaces the audio i already have.

I have enough layers for the sound at the moment.

the lay put is like this:
Video 3
Video 2 - has my footage on
Video 1

Audio 1
Audio 2
Audio 3
Audio 4
Audio 5 - has my audio on

i can move my clips across the time line, but cant change what level they are on. and i cant add music onto a different level, maybe my levels are locked or something? (they are not showing as locked with a padlock)

thaks

I managed to do it by locking all the layers except the one i wanted to put the music on.....not sure if its the correct way to do it but it worked.
