How are people geocoding their RAW files please (my Canon 40D camera doesn't support GPS)? Can anyone recommend some software to help achieve this please? Ideally I'd like the geocode added to an XMP sidecar file and not modify original CR2 file.

Currently I use Lightroom to import and manage my photos. I'm aware of the following plugin for lightroom but would rather have the geocode set before importing to Lightroom and then avoid this workaround:

No I don't have a smartphone. Looking for a way to tag the photos manually back home using something like google maps..
 
+1 for Geosetter.

I use a Garmin Forerunner GPS watch to track my position then import the track data and pictures into geosetter to tag them.
 
Thanks Paul. Just the pointer I was looking for. Installed and had a play with geosetting but so far looks just the ticket.
