i got a guy to install cs5 and it had a sharpening action on it ...now i seem to have lost it......any idea to get it back or get another one

Any idea what is was called? theres loads of them out there, you could try the load action option (on the actions palette drop down list) the sharpening action may be still in the folder from when it was originally loaded.

Sharpening is under filters, but it will be greyed out unless you have a file loaded into CS5.

I would suggest either shooting raw and using the sharpening tools in adobe camera raw or opening the jpeg in adobe camera raw and using them, they're much better than the ones under filter.

He mentions an action in the OP, it might be TLR which make action sets, or any one of dozens of others
I wonder if you (the OP) mean PK sharpner? thats under file automate (it's not an action but a script really) but looks like an action when it's working.

Sounds like a default action set, click on the action menu button (three lines, top right corner) there's default action groups listed there.
