Acrylic Print Collage - who does this?

A client of mine ordered an acrylic collage from me - 50 x 50 cm overall size composed of 9 equal size square images.

My lab of choice (Loxley) didn't offer this design choice so I had to cast around the web. I ended up ordering from Albelli. Called them beforehand to ask about image output sharpening, etc but couldn't answer my questions. Didn't leave a good impression but couldn't find anyone else offering the collage design option.

Anyway - the picture has been delivered today and it's awful - an overall green cast and a lack of detail in the images. My monitor is profiled as is my camera and I used a white balance card when I took the shots.

I have no confidence that they'll produce something of the quality I want to give to my client. Fortunately they have a '100% satisfaction' guarantee (as yet untested by me!) so I should be able to get a refund.

BUT - who offers the collage design option for acrylic prints at high quality?

I'm open to suggestions - would really like to get this sorted today.

TIA.

Have you contacted Albelli and asked them to do it again?

Also, possible stupid question but why can't you just design a 50x50cm (20"x20") collage with 9 images yourself and get Loxley to make it into an acrylic print?

Yep - I am not getting what makes this different to just getting your own design printed, if it's just one square that it comes out as overall?

I would definitely do the collage bit yourself - I did this myself in the Lightroom print module and it was very very easy. You have full control over the layout rather than being stuck with what a third party offers. You can then get it printed at any place that does acrylics.

Yes, have contacted Albelli.
Do you know I am feeling a fool - I just didn't think of doing this! :banghead:
My preference is to ask Albelli for a refund and go down the Loxley route. Am waiting for a response from Albelli.

Just looked at the Loxley website. WOW! NEVER printed off any off my images. There are a few that I would like to have done but have only handed over NEGS before! HELP! I shoot in RAW. Calibration on screen probably isn't that hot. I use Lightroom 5.

We still scan and print from negatives

Just sent a couple of images off. Wasn't sure about Lustre or Glossy - left it up to them. One was of the Taj Mahal and a weird and wonderful size. Took me a while to find one to fit it on. Some photos look as though they might be great "blown up" and aren't AND the other way round.

To update my thread.
I eventually got a refund from Albelli - actually this is slightly unfair as, once I'd got past a problem in returning the picture, they actually refunded promptly.
I then placed an order with Point101.com and am awaiting the delivery.
Whilst I was waiting for the first print from Albelli I did order two more acrylics for myself from them but have subsequently sent one back as it was a very poor print of the file that I sent them.
No recommendation for Albelli from me I'm afraid.
