No
I've just taken some shots of my daughter with my Nikon 135mm f2 at f2 and when I opened up the RAW file in Bridge I was very impressed with the sharpness (focus is on the bridge of the glasses). I then opened it up in ACR to do some minor tweeks and again noticed the sharpness.

However, when I then opened the file in CS5 I instantly noticed the file was no where near as sharp. I've just done a side by side comparison of the 2 images as shown below with the sharper RAW ACR image on the left and the CS5 opened image on the right.

Can anyone explain why I loose so much sharpness just by opening a RAW file in to CS5? I tried applying some sharpening but whatever I did I couldn't get it looking like the original RAW.

Opening the raw file in CS5 should result in it being opened in ACR, then you need to adjust the sharpening etc ACR before opening the file in CS5, it should stay the same as you set it in ACR.

Check settings in ACR - sharpening may be set to preview images only. (so when you open in CS5 it would lose the sharpening).

(I *think* that's how that particular setting works)...
