A6000 focus confirmation beep not working?

I've just sold my A6000 to a member here who is having trouble getting the focus confirmation beep to sound.

AFAIK he's been through all the menu options, tried a reset, and is in AF-S auto focus mode.

I'm 99% sure I had a focus beep when I used it (can't be 100% for all the use it had) so can anyone shed any light on what the issue might be?

He's also noticed there's no sound in video playback, so we now think it might be the speaker!

Again I really can't recall if I had sound during videos or not!

There is sound when playing back videos in camera. I can't remember off the top of my head how to enable/disable the focus confirm beep but it was the first thing I disabled when I got mine :0)

We've established that the speaker must be knackered. I don't recall whether I ever had sound from videos. I've given a partial refund so all is sorted.
