Hi -
I'm wanting to get some postcards printed and wondered if anybody could recommend a decent value printer (preferably online)?

I was looking at http://www.alocalprinter.com/uk/gloss-art-flyers/ and it seems that if you buy "flyers" rather than "postcards" they don't qualify for VAT ...so flyers it is! £85 for 5k is 1.7p each, which seems like good value - but i don't need that many, and they want £79 for 1k, which doesn't seem so good - but am struggling to find any alternatives and worry about picking somewhere untested!

Cheers Dave

Try 1-2-print.co.uk £39 for 5000 glossy flyers. Absolute bargain.

There is a thread about it in the Suppliers, Bargains section. Here's the link

When you go to the website you'll find the £39 deal is on the 250gsm A6 flyers. There are other deals to be had but some things/quantities are quite expensive. The quality of mine was superb and they were delivered about 4-5 days after i placed the order.

That's fantastic Paul - thanks very much, am ordering now!

Cheers Dave

...i must learn to use the search button!

No probs mate. Be careful if designing it in elements as the RGB to CMYK colour conversion can throw some of the colours off. The customer support at 1-2-print is very good and they offered to manually convert mine next time to avoid any colour difference.

I used photoshop and copied my layers into their templates which are CMYK, so hopefully should be ok.

...if there are any colour issues, it's going to be down to my lack of monitor calibration! - hopefully I'll see shortly!
