If like me, you use a graphics tablet to help with the PP of images, be careful where you put the "pen" down.

When I turned my PC on yesterday morning, I was having a problem with the cursor. All I got was that it wouldn't move from the Task Bar area of the screen. I could see it but no matter how violently I moved the mouse, the cursor just sat there, just a slight flicker.

After trying a new mouse, which gave exactly the same problem, I then tried the old mouse on a different PC, which worked perfectly. I then started ringing people I know who are far more computer literate than I am, I got nowhere. After over two hours of head scratching, I was no further forward.

The previous night I had been working on images using the graphics tablet, as it was late I couldn't be bothered to put it away. Just to be sure no one picked the "pen" up to write with, I lay it on top of the tablet to keep it safe. You've guessed, it was the "pen" on top of the tablet that was causing the problems. It was like having two mice trying to work at the same time. My bad luck the tip of the "pen" registered in the Task Bar area.

I know I'm stupid and I wasted over two hours, but I guess with the cursor being stuck in the Task Bar area, I naturally assumed there was a software problem. OK. you can all have a laught at my expense now. I'm sure I'll put everything away in future.

I will, :lol::lol::lol::lol:, funny!

I'm being a good boy and putting the tablet away at night now, enough mistakes for one day.

If it makes you feel better I think most of us have been as 'stupid' with the wacoms !! When junior designers have joined the company in the past, we have been known to get another pen and put it on their wacom and see how long it takes them to realise ;)

Yep, I do this regularly. I also attach remotely to my main machine then forget to close down REMOTE so I get to a machine and can't move the mouse because of that too :)
