A ridiculously good deal from OMDS....

Two reasons I'm not jumping at it:
1. No funds and if I did have dosh it would have to go on new flooring or similar for the house!
2. The OM1 Mk2 has been around a little while now so they are obviously clearing old stock

Not that the Mk1 wouldn't be a good upgrade for my EM1Mk2, but that's the other reason I'm not jumping at it - I've barely scratched the surface of what muy existing camera can do, and I hate getting rid of hardly-used kit.

There are becoming fewer and fewer reasons to upgrade camera kit.
What is already out there is already so good and the quality changes to new kit so minor.
That the cost benefit of a change is simply not worth most people's while.

It is coming to the point that the only reason to make a change, is because your present kit is damaged or worn out.
Or because new work needs specialised new features.

The next few years is going to be tough on dealers and manufacturers alike.
A high proportion of users are very satisfied with their present generation of equipment, and will take quite some persuasion to change.

Though the 25mm f1.8 is kind of tempting  :police:

Such a sensible way of looking at it.

Trouble is, trying to remember it when I get my next GAS attack.

For some reason, now that I can afford to buy almost any camera I want, I no longer want anything more than I have.
It's sad when an old enthesiasm dies... :tumbleweed:
