Bit of a moan......
Well, having gleaned lots of info from this forum, for which I am very very grateful as I do believe it has helped me to understand and Improve my photography, I am feeling a little disappointed.
I posted a picture on the landscape thread which I was excited about as I had put into practice some of the advice I have been given from here. This morning I looked to see what feedback the picture got. I hadn't received a single response but had received 36 views. Not one of those 36 had thought to even say a word, not one bit of CC.
Feeling slightly paranoid I took a look at the general stats and was somewhat dismayed to find that I am not alone, in fact there is one picture that has had over 180 views and the grand sum of 8 responses. That's a dismal 4% response....but at least there was some feedback. I noticed quite a few that didn't get any feedback at all. So feeling slightly lifted that it wasn't just me I though I would have a word!
I know we all have busy lives and to leave feedback every time we looked at a pic we would take all day (I am guilty of looking at plenty of photos but not responding so I hold my hands up
), but I do think we should make more of a concerted effort. Even if its a simple thumbs up icon it can go a long way to letting the photographer know that he is on the right track.
For someone like me who is a novice every piece of feedback is soaked up like a sponge and where possible put into practice. I don't post a pic for a slap on the back, or to see how many great comments I get so I can boost my ego. I, along with many others, really do want to have the picture pulled apart and receive constructive criticism. How else will we improve.
So, that said, I will make more of an effort to leave any feedback (like I said im a novice so my knowledge and photography vocabulary aren't that great, it may be a simple 'Like It!'), I hope you can do the same.
Moan over!
