rite guys&girls i know some one that stays at hampden there house just about over looks the grounds she has posted some photos from her i phone and they look well ok so i imaging i could get some nice ones with my 50-500 sigma whats the legality aspect of taking photos of the inside/athletes etc ?.did the commonwealth not state that they hold all rights to photos taken or did i hear wrong?

In Scotland you have a statutory right of access to almost (you cannot go tramping through gardens or doind other such silly things) all private land and water and taking not for profit photographs is specifically mentioned in the legislation as being a legitimate pursuit.
If you are on public land (a public road etc.) you can take pics of anything you want.

The games organisers, or whatever they are called, will not have powers that extend beyond the property (that will include their car parks etc. I expect) on which the games take place.
