I've been chatting to a friend who's got a fair amount of camera gear and will soon be selling his Nikon D2H very soon. He's said he will want between £380-450 for it. Not sure of the number of actuations yet but will find out.

Whats this camera like? I will be upgrading from my Nikon D50 so I'm guessing it will be a massive improvement. But how will it cope with high ISO.

Any info or sample pics would be great.

Not a hope in hell he'll get £380-£450.

Be lucky to get £225 I'd say.

The camera is one of Nikon's biggest ever flops, and responsible for a huge surge towards Canon. The later D2Hs which fixed many of the problems of the D2H is better.

Even in it's day I don't think the D2H was considered all that great at high isos and things have moved on a quite a bit since then.......

Actually, is there anything about it that is good as if I can get one for about £200-£250 then would it be worth me upgrading from my D50?

Bearing in mind It's going to be a long time before I can afford something like a D300.

For high iso work you really need to be looking at something like a D90 or D300, anything older and you won't notice a lot of difference from your D50

Edit: In your position I'd keep the D50 and look towards upgrading your lenses before buying another body, there's not really much point in putting entry level glass on a pro-spec body, but decent glass will work wonders for your D50, which is a cracking wee camera

I'm still looking at the sigma 70-200 so i guess i will go with that route instead then. I didn't know anything about the D2H so I'm glad I asked.

When I did an image search on it I thought, off pro camera, but i guess not.

Thanks for you help and advice again.

Theres someone on here selling a FUJI S3 PRO BODY for £275 i'm guessing this would be a step up from the D50 the sale is HERE may be worth having a look at

I used to have a D2h. Looking back at some old pictures, it is a great pro body, IF you can cope with the 4.1mp, and it's not very good at high ISOs. In reasonably light, I couldn't fault it.
