I just had to share this!

Since my daughter was a littlun she has gone to dance school and loved performing. 3 years ago after a show with her dance school we asked her what she wanted to do next…..

“A real show” She replied. Eek!

We did some research and found out that the touring productions use kids from one of two local stage schools. So we enrolled her and after a two year wait she got in!

This week she has done her first show….she was part of the choir in the touring production Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in Rhyl. The choir doesn't get a rehearsal in the theatre. They're trained in Chester and show up on the day. 1 hour or so with production staff and then its curtains! 2 shows a day leaving home a 10:30 and getting home at midnight!

I went to see her last night and I am proud as punch. When that curtain went up and at the end I had a huge lump in my throat! When she was christened everyone said I had a huge smile on my face. Compared to last night that was nothing!

I gather the cast are looking after them well giving autographs and photos and lots of encouragement. I so wish I had a photo of her on stage or a recording of the performance. I did ask the sound engineers last night but they said they don’t record it. She is on again on Saturday, then it’s Shrewsbury and Salford!

So today I am a proud proud father and she is a star (in my eyes).

Ahh good on you pops:thumbs: and good on you and the missus for making her dreams come too. My little one is 23 now and still makes me proud every day:love:

Thanks everyone.

She's rehearsing for another show tonight, tomorrow morning it's school speech day and after that back to Joseph.

I don't know how she keeps going.....and she's only 8!

sorry did you mean 8 or is that a typo????

chriky well done her that is really well done (must be a typo)

Ah bless her, I've got two girls (under 4) and can imagine the proud-as-punch smile I'd have in your situation :)

ETA: I had a proud moment when there was a live band playing in a local pub and both girls were right up the front dancing away with the whole place going "ahhhh" then the singer handed my eldest the microphone and she started singing Ice Ice Baby!!

That's my girl

Awww bless, a proper proud dad moment. Don't you just love em!
Cherish these moments, jot them down, take photos and video....plenty to relive later on :)

Cheers peeps.....It got better, The stage school awarded her a prize for best performer!

I'm just gutted I couldn't take a photo of her on stage or get a recording of the performance. I've got a bad one of her with "Joseph" after the show in his civvies. It needs a lot of PS work!

Maybe one of the other parents got a photo with her in. I always take loads of pictures when my grandkids are in performances and would always share any pics I had which other parents didnt get.

Condition of entry, no cameras!

The staff escorting the kids were barred from taking cameras into the theatre too. I gather they have one shot with the cast and I am waiting to hear if i can get a copy.

I'm guessing she goes to the Hammond School in Chester?

Latest news....Shrewsbury next week. She's now been picked for a part in Lloyd webbers wistle down the wind. A show I saw last winter and it blew me away.

Oh my dad was in the film of Whistle down the wind, his claim to fame LOL, he was one of the police officers combing the hills, he was in the Civil Defence and they used anyone with a uniform.

Well done to your daughter you must be very proud of her!
