Evening guys

Right im all ears for ideas on this, Basicaly i've been given a project at college to write my own brief and do a project on something i.e landscapes, architechture, fashion, idustry, automotive etc etc etc.

I was thinking something involving cars but they maybe to easy and a little plain so i need some ideas on what i can base my project on and was hoping that you creative people may be able to help me out.

Was thinking of doing something along the lines of equestrian or the like showing the power and grace of horses??

thanks in advance

Ian

I love the idea of the horses, look at Edwaerd Muybridge for inspiration - he first captured the moment on film when a horse has all four feet off the ground. Amongst other stuff.

Also a while back, cannot remember which issue, in the BJP someone had their series of work shown and is very similar to what you want to do.

Hi Ian,

I was in your position last year for my photography exam, I had a very open brief of Rythem and Cycles; and as long as we could connect our final pieces to that then it was all good!

My only advice is to be as original as possible. For example, through cycles, I got Evolution, and from there= wildlife, I then hurled in my own touch which was black and white. I then ended up doing a whole project on black and white wildlife... It was a little different from a guitar or drum kit which was the unoriginal favourite!

Another tip is don't be afraid to experiment! The only way you learn is by making mistakes! And don't be afraid to be a little different!

Good luck, and I hope it goes well!

Suqizza - Thanks I was thinking of that but couldn't remember his name, watched a few docs which included him too!

Norvic-boy - Thats what im trying to do be original, but finding it a tad hard at minute, and experimentaion is what they look for even if it fails ong as i show it i can still get good marks!
I was thinking of something contrasting like a monkey driving a tractor ( i live on a farm) or a clown doing an oposite job if that makes sense?
what do people think?

You may find it a tad hard, but putting in the time and researching, brainstorming on ideas is the way to go!

I realled off loads of paper full of different ideas, planned down to the very bone, I ended up with 4 finished concepts! Then scrapped them and started the brainstorming part all over again!

Its all apart of the fun!

But write down everything you do/plan/think/try etc!

Yeah i am doing now, never used to but helps alot, thing is i have to write the brief well first part of it for monday, so only been given a week to think of and idea or concept then i can start doing more planning research etc for it. once its done i can't change my mind either like normal.
