I’m going on a 10 day photo trip to Bali/Singapore. I’m taking my Z9 Z85:1.2 and F mount 24mm f1.4 lens with FTZ II adapter ( all this can just fit inside my Peak Design 6L sling bag ) but I need to take a medium size Gitzu Tripod as well when going out and about taking pictures.
Flying to Singapore I will just put the tripod in my check in baggage……..Any suggestions for the tripod as it won’t fit in the Peak Design bag?IMG_2828.jpeg
I saw one of these but they look like a PITA as well

I have Peak Design connectors on both my cameras and my tripod, so use my camera strap to carry my tripod around.

The leg off an old pair of trousers or a yoga mat bag would be a cheap option.

Any camera strap with long enough free ends can be used like that armageddon gear thing...

I also make/sell these adjustable strap mounting points with universal, peak design, and op/tech attachments; but I am in USA so time/expense may be an issue. But they are really pretty basic.

I personally hate tripod bags... in fact, large bags of any sort are just for "storage" IMO.

I have thought about using the peak design tags, what do you use to attached them to on the tripod as I can not think of any place to mount on their own ! ?

I have the PD tripod, so there are loops for them, but I have also been able to attach them to a previous 3LT tripod.

I loved Singapore, have a lovely time Neil :D

I liked it all including the Garden By the Bay and the trail up to Bukit Timah summit.

Lewis. Do you have a picture of how you connect them to your tripod..........I have 2 extra PD connectors that I thought I might be able to use? Thanks

Just use a camera strap, two loops of para cord and two of those cordlock thingies you get on hoodies to tighten up the paracord loops around the tripod head and feet for a quick release, Takes about 3 seconds to undo the feet end, and your ready to set up (I normally leave the head end on unless it's windy)

I do this, use the slide strap for my tripod in these situations.

Follow up to show you how I carry my Gitzu tripod when my Nikon Z9 , Z85:1.2 and F mount 24:1.4 with the FTZ adapter are all inside a Peak Design 6L sling bag.
I bought some extra Peak Design clips and permanently attached them to the tripod then installed 2 clip holders on the underside of the Peak design bag using rubber O-Rings. All in all I’m very happy with how it’s turned out. IMG_2891.jpegIMG_2892.jpegIMG_2893.jpeg

Personally, I'd have the tripod dangling on the outside of the bag rather than underneath it so it wasn't banging against my hip/thigh as I walked along.

I could easily do that as the PD bag has loops on the front as well but in my short time using it it was fine as the sling bag is either on my back or against my belly

The Manfrotto Befreelive comes with its own carrying case (18nches long) that is any help.
