In this month's edition of photo-plus a chap explains focal length with he is i think is right but then again i am no expert yet, but is he entirely right of in his last comment about the 1D series he says 21 mega-pixel camera gives better Resolution with out compromise .???? What is the compromise there are only so many colors/image information you can capture my 3M-P Nikon cool-pix gets great shots, my canon 400D 10 M-P gets great shots, but they contain the same information, i mean you can get a large image of 10x8 from a 3MP camera with perfect resolution it has been proven , so is he right,
Is this another?, well if he takes shots for magazine quality you need a zillion M-P camera. or if a 400D had a 21 million M-P software it would take the same shots as the 1D albeit on a cropped sensor, or is this another way of justifying the 4K spend, as we have already proved in thread earlier that a 5D will do everything you need in the full frame range that the 1D's will do, apart from weather-sealing, i think it boils down to purse size and how you imagine you will be 50% of the time with your camera, so is he justified in saying that or was it a load of old MP crop rubbish, if you can find holes in his statement and it get published you win a 4GB card worth a pop i think.
So do more M-P make for a better resolution at 6x4 10x8 then going up the scale till canvas, When dose the image start to loose resolution or another way when dose the cropped sensor start to fail where the full-frame 21 M-P takes over.
If i was a professional Tog which provided me with a income i would get the 1D or better, as i am not relying on my togging skills (thank god) for income a 400D 10 M-P is fine for me, if i have loads of dosh (i wish) then i would get the 1D, so are we being sold this idea or do these resolution theories stack up.
regards Mark.
