Hi all. I've just gravitated to this forum after finding a photo on the internet and following it back here.

Been on here for a week or so, and I have to say, I'm not only really impressed at the standard of the photos, but also the friendliness of the folk on here. There appears to be no back stabbing, cutting remarks, sarcastic comments etc. that have sadly affected the other big photo forum (we all know which one that is - now owned by our US cousins).

I'm a long time semi pro wedding & portrait photographer (although I do have a real job as an engineering manager), but to be honest I MUCH prefer taking photos purely for my own pleasure rather than paid work for anyone else. My passion is Landscape and Wildlife (including bird) photography, which I'm just really getting into.

I've also recently developed a love for Macro photography which I actually find the most difficult photographic discpline, but ultimately one of the most rewarding and enjoyable.

I've been a Nikon chap for 30 years, so currently run a D3, D300 and recently added a cute D5100. A decent selection of lenses including Nikon 24-70 F2.8, Nikon 70-200 F2.8 VR II, Nikon 16-35 F4 VR II, Nikon 50mm F1.4, Nikon 35mm F1.4, Nikon 300mm F4 AFS, Sigma 180mm F3.5 HSM Macro, as well as the TC-14E-III and my brand new TC-20E III teleconverters.

Hoping to make some new friends on here in the coming weeks / months.

Please, keep up the excellent work.

Welcome Andrew,:thumbs:We are glad you joined us at TP
Know what you mean about the other forum

Came here because every time I posted,some-one checked my spelling and grammar and let me know it was VREY wrong :suspect:

By the way,we can't shout at you till you have 1000 posts :D:p:lol:

Yes Rick, that's EXACTLY the sort of thing I was on about. Plus, if someone posted a photo that wasn't 100% technically perfect (and let's face it, most of us are never 100% happy with our photos), then certain people whom you had never met before would absolutely rip it to pieces and get real nasty, whilst not posting a perfect example of theirs of how to do it "right"

Thanks guys. Glad to be here.
