A Flickr Question...

My pics on flickr don't show up when i try searching. I've added proper tags, made sure they're public, and made sure there's no lewd content. Yet when i search "everyones uploads" for one of my tags and view by date "recently uploaded" they're not showing.

I've only been on flickr for a few days and the account is the bog standard free one. Have tried flickr help pages, but they're no flippin use whatsoever.

Anyone help?

Yep.

You have to wait a couple of weeks for account to be 'approved' - basically to check whether your account is safe or not. At the moment your account is in some kind of state awaiting review - basically to make sure you are moderating your own account properly. It doesn't matter whether your account has lewd content or not, just whether you flag it accordingly...

So whilst you are in this state other people can see your photos if you send the link, just your tags won't show up in public searches.

Give me one of your recent uploads and a tag for it and I have a search oh and your username.

Yeh I did look in the FAQ but couldn't find the information; this is how I remember it when I joined a year or two ago.

If you search the help for 'Pending Review' you might get a bit more info. I think you need to upload 5 public photos.

Also if you look at 'Your Account' it should say somewhere what your account status is and I think there is a link explaining what the status means.

i am having the same problem, i uploaded several photos to my account but when i search for any of my photos i cant see them i looked under my account to see what status it is set at but i couldn't find anything about it. does anyone know what i am doing wrong, my flickr link is this FlickR

also noticed on other peoples flickr that the web address will be something like.. .flickr.com/USERNAME how do i get my one like that as at the moment its has a load of numbers after the flickr.com

You set that in the my account bit, you can only do it once though.

Have you had a look at Your Account: Privacy and Permissions? There is a setting Hide your stuff from public searches which might impact people finding your stuff from a tags search. Set it to No and try again.
