Hey all we are just shy of 100 entries so far - quick reminder to send the full res files to TPMoment@smoothedit.com when you get chance please - I have only received 61 so far.

Gracias.

There are some cracking photographs in this thread - are we "allowed" to offer comments and critiques. I hate to ask but there seems to be a rule for most things around here and I'd hate to spend time offering an opinion only to be told "you're not supposed to do that!!"

Personally, I say yes, as it's a good way to learn and improve / gather ideas etc - but not my thread - so I'll shut up!

Absolutely Ryan. Comments and crit is a big part of TP and the way we learn. Hopefully everyone who took part in TP Day understands that and will appreciate any C&C people can offer!

really? care to clarify? this is a photo thread for taking photos on 30th august, so the only rule here is the photo must be taken on 30th. comments/crit should really be in the other thread to prevent diluting this one, but thats a suggestion only.

Excuse me for being a technophobe but how exactly do I attach a high res image to my hotmail? I can attach the photo but I don't know how to make sure it is the size required...:shrug:

Hey Fi,

Just send your edited and final version without shrinking it to the forum 800 pix rule.

I just had to point out this entry by Sarah:
. . . and a very specific reason for choosing to shoot this, rather than something that I know I could do well at.

Some of you might know that I set myself a challenge of capturing an insect in flight by the end of this Summer. After a few initial disastrous attempts, I've gradually been getting better with thanks to the encouragement and help of people on here. (you know who you are)
Still a long way to go, but this is my best so far - so thank you :)

Taken at 15:10 on Monday.
Canon 18-55mm Kit Lens and YongNuo Flash.

Lucky Heather

Shame there were none of the larger Hovers about on Monday. Those of you who have Heather in the garden will appreciate how close up and how small this little guy actually is

What a bloody fantastic shot, and equally magnificent story behind it - epitomizing what TP Day was all about. Congratulations Sarah!

Thank you Matt . . . but "bloody fantastic" is seriously overstating it
It's an OK shot, but for me it summed up what TP day was about far better than a good shot of something easy.

I also wanted to point out that this was done with very basic kit.
For me, TP isn't about collecting pretty, new things but about learning how to really use and get the best from what I already have.

Glad that the message came across
