Good Evening TP

I've just come back from a weekend in the Lake District and come across a few issues with my picture taking!!

1st - I was trying to take pictures of the stars but my camera wouldn't let me take a photo unless it had something major to focus on?? it wouldn't let me take a photo of the dark basically!

2nd - I had a couple of views that would've been great in one shot "panoramic" but didn't know where to start.

Do I need special lenses to pull off these shots?

Thanks:bang:

1/ Set the focus manually/infinity

2/ Take a series of photos which overlap each other and then feed them into panoramic software

If your camera has manual focus, use it and set it to infinity.

For panoramas take a number of overlapping shots (be generous with the overlap) and stitch them together with software. Hugin is decent free panorama software.

But do watch, if its a modern lens, they tend to focus past infinity. So its sometimes best to focus as far as it goes then back a centimetre or so
