Yes
OK, so at the weekend my Dad was having a clearout and he gave me his old conventional camera.

It's a Pentax with a 50mm lens - still works, etc. There was also some Tamron Lenses.

A telephoto
A Zoom
A Wide angle

and a whole bunch of effects filters, a flash gun, a slave flash and some other bits and bobs.

So the question is.... is it possible to get an adapter for the Tamron lenses to Fit a Canon 450D SLR? Just wondered.....If so, I could try using them myself.

If not - Is anyone actually interested in conventional stuff these days and would it sell? even if only for a few quid?) My first thought was maybe students doing a photography course who have to understand conventional film perhaps?

Loads of people are still interested but unfortunately, a few quid is probably all you will get depending on the model. The K1000 has cult status and gets a better price than the other Pentax cameras.

Steve.

Or, at the risk of sounding like a total madman, you could use them on the pentax. :D

I've done my time (and cut my teeth) using film since the age of 12, I have however, as much fun as it was using film, moved on to fully embrace digital.

My dad didn't, but this lot is just cluttering up a cupboard.

If you want to sell the Pentax etc. the best time is around the start of the new academic year at university/college etc. when the new photo/media study courses start.
The old Pentax cameras seem to get good prices about then on fleabay.

Or you could just go out an use it...

anyhoooo.... Got hold of an adapter for the adaptall II range off the internet for £20 and it works, surprise surprise, so I now have three more lenses (albeit without autofocus) to add to the collection. Dad's given them to me and bought the adapter for me as a Christmas present.

Using old lenses on Digital cameras is (for me!) great fun. I have a few old Olympus and Super Takumar lenses and they are superb quality. Look out for Helios lenses as these are good and still cheap. i got a good one for £6 once!
