First, showing all exif information right click-info in finder.

When I right click an image in finder and select 'info' and then 'more info' I get some exif information, but a lot is missing , particularly ISO and exposure bias (similar to properties-details in windows), how do I get this additional information to show up? I know the exif info is intact as I have opened the images in windows and all the info is there?
I know I can use other programmes to view exif info, but I want to be able to quickly view the info without having to open other programmes.

Second problem is the thumbnail size in 'preview app', they are tiny, if I open a folder in preview, I can hardly make out what's on the thumbnail, it's so small. And I can't seem to find anyway of making the thumbnails bigger (as you can in finder), it wouldn't matter so much as I could use other programmes (like finder), but if you are posting an image to a website directly from your computer the browsers (chrome/safari etc) default to 'preview' for selection, I know I can hit the space bar to enlarge the image for viewing, but if you are looking for one image in a number it becomes a bit of a chore. So my question is, how can you adjust the size of thumbnails in 'preview' or getting browsers to default to 'finder' (or similar) when posting images directly from computer.

MY third question (if anyone is still with me), I have a number of spreadsheets created in 'Numbers' , I have put them on iCloud, but can't open them on my iPad or iPhone, I don't want to edit them on iPhone/Ipad just view them. I can see the documents when I open 'Manage Storage' on iPhone, but can't open them, but if I Email them to my IPhone/Ipad as an attachment, I can open the spreadsheets OK

Can no one help?

I can probably live with the small thumbnails in preview, and not being able to open spreadsheets on my IPad, but there must be a way (or a workaround) to get all exif info from an image when you right click it?

You could try a program called Reveal. It will show the exif data including ISO ( Why Apple ignore this in preview is beyond me ). Not used it myself so can't give you any more info

Have you tried downloading Numbers for the iPad to view your spread sheets ? Not free but only £7.00

Hope this helps

That's great advice John, really appreciated,:thumbs: I can open reveal and drag an image onto and it gives me all the detail I need, either in summary or detail.

In respect of numbers, I've already bought numbers for my mac for £13 odd, although it's only £7, I don't really need it that badly on my iPad.

At first I thought this would be the answer, so I output one of the spreadsheets and sent it to iCloud. But couldn't read it on my iPad/Iphone (even with pdf readers installed), after googling it, there seems to be a lot of discussion (and anger) on the apple support forums around this, the way you can't share pdf (and other) documents in the cloud between mac & IOS?:thumbsdown:

Download good reader for iOS, this allows you to pull PDFs from the cloud. Best of all its free.

Good reader is great I agree, unfortunately, the latest version doesn't work with documents on iCloud, lots of different 'suggestions' on different Apple forums on why this is so

It's getting a bit crazy, that to share my spreadsheets that I created on a mac and want to view on an iPad, I have to go to Microsoft to get it done, instead of using Apple's "numbers' I use MS Excel (on the Mac) to create a spreadsheet, upload it to MS's Skydrive (instead of iCloud), which I can access via Goodreader on my iPhone.

So it can be done, I know Apple is still getting it's act together regarding it's Cloud service, but it's being trumped by both Microsoft and Google (google Drive) all the time on this issue.

I realised why this never blips on my radar as a problem...

Click on your upload button in your browser, which brings up the File Open dialog

Switch to the Finder, where you can resize the thumbs up to 512px, do searches, etc.

Then just drag the file you want from the Finder into the File Open dialog in whatever app you're using and it will be selected ready to upload or whatever you were going to do with it.

Alternatively, if you select multiple files in the File Open dialog, you can press the space bar to Quick Look. At the top of the Quick Look window there's a button to show all of them as 'big as possible' previews.

Unless, you're talking about the Thumbnails column at the side in Preview once you've opened a selection of files? In which case, just drag the column wider or switch it to Contact Sheet from the control at the top.

With preview, if I open preview on it's own, I do have the option of having the thumbnail column along the side, but when I want to post an image directly to a website, I don't have these options.
So when I open a folder directly with preview, I get an open folder with small icons, and if I click on the 'open' button bottom right, I get (as you say), thumbnails along the side and images I can adjust.

However if I want to post an image directly to a website (my pbase galleries for instance), the behaviour of the preview app changes, in the image below, to upload a single image to a pbase gallery I select choose file, the Preview screen opens, I select the folder the images are in, and the 2 buttons on the bottom right change from 'Cancel' or 'Open' to 'Cancel' or 'Choose' , meaning you can't get to the view with thumbnails down the side, and images you can adjust. I've tried this on a number of sites, and different browsers, and it's all the same. One thing I have noticed that in this view (upload to web) you you get an extra view option thats different from directly opening preview, in that you have the 'carousel' view (don't know if that's the correct term), which makes life easier, but not perfect, especially if you have loads of images to scroll through.

Your solution is manageable though, I would need to open an empty folder in preview (uploading to web), and drag individual images from finder into the empty folder then select them for uploading to web.

I really do appreciate everyone going the extra mile to help me with these conundrums.
