A bit of a Dilemma

Now here's a problem.
I was taking a few shots of the Dragonflies which frequent my garden. How could I get a shot of the one that had landed on my head twice?
After taking a few more shots, it landed on my hand. Now if you ever have the luck to have this happen, you will know how your heart races, but worse than that I had to try and focus with one hand without shaking and try not to disturb it with the other which is why the shot was blurred. I managed six shots in all but every one was blured much to my disapointment.

In that second shot John, it looks like your lens is able to focus to very short distances (part of your hand closest to camera is in focus for example) so you should be able to rest the end of your lens on your left hand and still be able to focus on the subject. This will greatly reduce any camera movement as it's now aligned with any movement of your hand.

Hopefully one will land on you again (you'll probably have more luck on cooler days as they enjoy the warmth of your hand), but you can also use this technique if you want to manipulate a branch or leaf that any bugs have landed on.
