How do i make a really basic collage of images....

E.g 3 images, put into one file/frame/image....

(not overlapping)

Thank you

Create a blank page in PS first then add your images as different layers

I just tried this, how do you get the images to be layers though ? Do you drag them into the blank one ?
Sorry i'm not exactly a pro :(

i hope you are using Photoshop, or i am about to be 3 minutes late for nothing :)

easiest way i have found it to go:

FILE NEW -set to your required size 12x5, 10x8 etc 300DPI
FILE OPEN - select your 3 images (hold ctrl and click each one) click open

this will give you all 3 images and your main background layer open.

work out what sizes you want the photos to be, click on the crop tool. At the top set your size for the crop for example (width 4in, height 3in 300DPI)
drag the cursor over the image getting in as much as possible for that crop, PRESS ENTER.

you then drag that layer from your pallette, and drop it onto your white background.

repeat with the other 2 images

now close the 3 images you are importing into your collage DO NOT SAVE

this should leave a single background layer, with 3 photo layers on. press V or select your Move tool, check the box at the top which says 'auto select layers. this allows you to move the positions.

tip: press CTRL + @ and this will give you grid lines to line them up symetrically.

layer - flatten
File - save as
print, enjoy! :)

no probs at all, glad it helped! :)
