I have the Lencarta SmartFlash kit with the softbox and umbrella. So far I've used it mainly for pictures of my three year old grandson.

I now want to take some fully length portraits, including his parents. From what I can gather the 60cm x 60cm softbox is too small for this.

Lencarta have an 85x85cm softbox at half price currently, due to a slight defect. Would this be adequate for full length portraits?

Thanks in advance for your help.

It'll light them, whether or not it'll light them in the way you'd want though?

For full length portraits, I'd definitely go bigger I have a 120" Octa for such occasions.

It depends on the effect you want to achieve.
If you want the light to be really soft, the light source needs to be as close as practicable to the subject, and at that kind of distance the 85cm won't light the whole subject.
But if you want the light a bit crisper, it needs to be further away, and will then be plenty big enough.

Thank you Phil and Garry. I think I'll save a bit more and go for the 120" Octa.

Garry has a 'thing' about large softboxes in domestic spaces, but my rooms have decent height ceilings and I always have my softboxes brushing the ceiling here. It works, but a proper studio space makes life easier.
