85L Bokeh F2.8 F2.0 F1.2

Decided to take 3 images all at 2.8, 2.0 and 1.2 just to see the difference, im amazed and wasnt expecting to see that amount of bokeh / DOF. Really happy with the results of this lens. Doing a 365 project just using this one!

Anyone else got any comparison shots?

It is spectacular wide open, and it makes me cringe when some people always stop it down to below f/4.

That depends on whether you care about depth of field or bokeh

fair enough, but there are far better and cheaper lenses below f/4

The clipped tops and bottoms of the OOF highlights at f/1.2 rather take the shine off it IMHO. 85/1.2 L does it too.

If 'big bokeh' is good bokeh, then longer focal length helps a lot. 135/2 L is king in portrait situations, 100/2 does pretty well for much less money.
