Hi.

I recently did a micro focus adjustment and I found that I needed a +10 adjustment for my 17-55 and a +9 adjustment for my 70-200 f4 is. I told the camera to keep these settings on a per lens basis. I noticed today that my 7d misbehaved and reset both adjustments to 0 . Does anybody know why this happened? I am running firmware 2.0.3.

Are you sure you saved the changes? Did you check afterwards?

Did you do the on screen moire test?

Having a +10 adjustment does seem rather extreme..

Best thing to try is reset camera completely, wipe all of the lens data too and try it again. Make sure you correspond to a reference of the full moire on the micro-adjust image.

Once you've had a go of it again, remember to click save!

In my experience (5 adjustable camera bodies combined with 10 lenses) I would not consider +10 as unusual and it is well within the extremes of +/-20. As for the OP's problem, I'm with admirable on that one. Once the adjustment is dialed in you need to press the SET button to save it.

EDIT : Reikan Is building a database of AFMA values and sharpest aperture values for various body/lens combinations based on the results from their FoCal software. Go here - http://www.reikan.co.uk/focalweb/index.php/online-tools/lenscamera-information/ - and specify the equipment combination of interest to see the results others are obaining.
