7d, How to turn the screen off at night?

I've had a few goes of shooting the night sky, however it's really difficult to look through the viewfinder at night when the screen is so bright. Can you turn it off? I've had a look in the manual & can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I know I could use Live view but sometimes I would prefer the viewfinder.

It should auto switch off when your eye get's near the view finder, but if you just want it off I would imagine it's not too different to my 450D in that if you press the display button it turns off the display

Yup, the 'display' button will do it.
