Some of you guys may realised I had a post of choosing either 28-70 or 24-105..
But I found a good deal of 24-70 now....
So I will definitely go for the 24-70

However the main concern is that 24-70 is famous of bad copy (not really accurate in 24mm)...

I am not sure if this is true....but IF the one I am going to buy is a bad copy and only not accurate at 24mm, Can I use the AF microadjustment to fix it??

I'm not aware that the 24-70L is more prone to bad copies than anything else, ie it's actually very rare. Sure you can micro-adjust the AF but be warned that it's damn hard at 24mm because depth of field is naturally high so any shifts are hard to see. So you then move closer to reduce DoF, which often provokes small discrepencies because of the short distance, so when you correct for that you're out at normal range.

Be careful, keep the distance sensible/realistic, know what you're doing and be aware that if you go looking for problems, you very often find non-existant ones ;) As this thread proves http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=319827

Hi edinburgh - I'm using that camera and lens combination with no problems at all.

The 7D handbook contains useful info about the micro adjustments

Remember that microadjustments at 24mm will affect the rest of the zoom range too.

I'd say forget it. Your best - and not so good - bet would be Canon service. The lens is extremely complex and many things can go wrong. The problems can be very camera model or firmware dependent, as I've seen 40D and older cameras really struggle with that lens. Chances are 7D will play the ball happily. Again this is no simple lens like 50mm f/1.4, but sadly there is no better standard zoom for Canon at the moment.
