Hi guys, I`m currently looking for a printer that can print 6x8`s and higher, I was wondering if anyone can suggest a printer that I can buy which will do this, I don`t want to keep going to Asda so im looking to buy a printer so I can do it myself.

Thank you

It depends what you want it for? I have a few dye subs that I use for my business, they are portable and print 6x8 in under 18 sec with continuous colours and a protective layer on top. They will churn out hundreds of identical prints with no colour matching issues. These are often used in print labs for instant photos. Prices start just under £1,000 and each print will be around 20-25p . The cheaper option is inkjet for under £100, but they dither the colours and can be a nightmare to get consistent output over a period of time, and print cost is a lot higher, but nevertheless still practical if you are doing the odd print and don't mind mucking about with papers, blocked nozzles and colour profiles form time to time.

The consumer Canons do a good job, if you want it for typical enthusiast 9rather than pro) purposes. I have a MG 5250 (5 inks) and MG6350 (6 inks including grey) and they both print very well for sizes up to A4. Models change so fast, not sure what the current ones are, but make sure to pick one with 5 or 6 inks (the latter better if b&w is your thing, but won't be without colour casts anyway). I've only used Canon inks which are stupidly expensive, but have had no nozzle clogs. Thinking of trying a 3rd party ink in one...

I wouldn't if I were you, Chris. The only problem I've ever had with a Canon printer (on my 3rd) was really bad colour cast and fading from a cheap 3rd party ink. Changed it out for a genuine one as soon as it arrived and flushed it before it had a chance to block a nozzle. Never again!"

To reduce the chance of nozzle blockages, I do at least one colour photo print per week. Keeps things flowing!
