im upgrading to full frame and have a £1300 budget , I'm looking at the 6D from john lewis brand new which is £1169 with 2 years warranty. I like the 6D as know a lot of people who use them and they love them but I've had hands on experience with a 5D mark ii so I'm stuck really. so the question is... if you was me, what would YOU choose and why?

I've had a 5D2 for a couple of years, remain very happy with it and wouldn't sell it so I could buy a 6D. However if buying today and having to choose between it and a 6D then I'd get 6D, at least partly due to built in wifi and improved low light performance

I've just bought a 6D, it was 6D new or 5D MkII second hand. The 6D has better ISO, higher fps, higher dynamic range, WiFi, GPS & is just generally "next gen", also the fact that I got the 6D for £900 inc 3 year warranty made the decision easy :D

I own both. (main and backup), and as Mrgubby says, all this is true:

"The 6D has better ISO, higher fps, higher dynamic range, WiFi, GPS & is just generally "next gen","

The most noticeable and obvious improvement is indeed the dynamic range and better ISO, its very much better than the 5Dmk2

6D, no questions asked.

I owned the 5D mkII and now have the 6D. I support everything combat squirrel has said in his post. The 6D is without question the better camera.

I went with the 6D over 5D2 when I upgraded from mk1 5D, as it didn't feel like I was getting very many upgrades for my £, whereas the 6D seemed a whole jump on, ok still only 11 focus points but still better than the old 9. Looking at 50D vs 5D2 looks much the same, you gain full frame but that's about it. SD vs compact flashes nags at my "well it isn't as good" but I do like the fact they're small, readily available in every town, and hasn't actually affected me in any way really, and neither has the 1/4000 shutter limit, except when a customer loaned me a 85mm F1.2 for an afternoon, and I wanted to shoot at F1.2 as you do.

Wifi & GPS as built in features just add to the bargain of the camera to me, as man maths mean you can argue you get the camera for free, and the performance of the liveview, which was a feature I wasn't bothered about when I ordered it, but first week with it, on holiday, on a beach, 10 stop ND filter on, press liveview "wow", quick increase of workflow, and it's readily accessible rather than being hidden away as an afterthought.

Another vote for HDEW and the 6D. I am very very happy with the 6D I purchased from them. Great upgrade from my 7D.

Buy it from HDEW and you can get it for 899 Inc a 3 year warranty. Mine arrives next week ;-)

are they UK stock tho or imports? last thing i wanna do is pay that kind of money thats not legit
