5DMKII - Which 85mm?

You'd be hard pressed to buy better. I have one and love it. Bung tubes on it and it makes a good macro too.

The 85 f1.8 works well on the 5d, if you have a good copy it's as sharp as a very sharp thing and is generally held in high regard within the photographic world.

tbh in the canon range, at that focal length only the 85 1.2 would give a more pleasing image but at many times the price

I have the 85mm f1.8 on a 5D2 and its spot on - sharp with good colour and contrast - I'd get a price from Kerso

If it's 85mm you want you have 2 choices, 1.8 at less than £300 or the 1.2 at over £1300. (prices from KERSO, but check for current price) I had the 1.8 and upgraded to the 1.2, both are great. Get a 1.8 and try it out, if you want to upgrade you wont loss a great deal on it.;)

Thanks for all the replies folks. Just purchased and look forward to delivery.

Would love to see some examples from this lens

(was going for the 1.2 but EG started crying like a little bitch, he still has a major hard on for it)

Cheers

Daz

If you got the 1.2 I would remove the front element and behead you with it. I would then put it back together and take photos for your Facebook Condolences page.

NO ONE I KNOW is allowed to own the f1.2 lens. Or else.

I settled for the far inferior 85mm f1.4 on Nikon after all the IRC Bully Boys convinced me it was more sensible than buying a 5D MKII for the sole purpose of getting the f1.2 Fools, all of them!

doooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo it :D

an 85/1.8 is something I have considered need to work out if I use the focal length on ff much
