Guys, im looking at buying a second hand 5D and the guy has just sent a test image, i think it looks like its covered in dust bunnies!! what do you think???

If so, what does it cost to get the sensor cleaned??

dont think i,d buy from someone called cumscrote101 anyway.
does look a bit dusty but sensors arent to hard to clean. you can buy sensor cleaning kits easily, ans camera shops dont charge loads to clean em anyway.
i would be very wary of buying anything of that value from ebay without actualy seing it in the flesh.

If his screen is anything like the one on this lappy, the muck is on the screen :(

I'd never buy off ebay without being able to test the goods.

I would be worried that id scratch the thing if i were to clean it myself!! i tried cleaning the prism for the view finder on an old 35mm and made a right mess of it!! lol..
 
go try then, what besides a bit of time have you to lose?

.. does look like LCD muck not dust goobers. You'd only see these at f12+
 
the exif says it was taken at F4.. im sorry but who could stand a montor THAT dirty!!! im a grubby git at the best of times but that is just awfull!! it must be bunnies!! surley..
 
Could you be saying 'dont touch??' ... its a 5D with a 24-70L and grip for £1300.. :shrug:
 
no, i might be saying that the screen on this lappy is a damn site worse than that image though................then again.......i might not......

Last time I cleaned the sensor on my 5D it took about 10 minutes. no big deal.

You check for dust by shooting at f22 because it does not show at all at around f8 and wider - unless you have some huge speck in there.
 
Right, i didnt know that, thanks.. iv had the 400D and never had a bunny to deal with!! :thumbs:

Anyway, i'm currently looking at getting another camera from another forum.. posted in Suppliers on here..
 
if you can go and have look and are happy go for it, but dont give any money till you are 100% sure, if its the 1, I am thinking of he does have good feed back, and I did look at this myself as it had the grip and lens I want next but with xmas could not afford that much.

I'm in the "wouldn't spend that kinda cash without testing it first" camp.
 
Aaah.. i was thinking it was a typo!! Anyway, iv lost interest in it!! lol.. got my eyes on a bargain that poped up last night.. :thumbs:
