Hello guys

have got the opportunity t oget one of the above cameras and not sure which one to go for, have got a EF 70- 300 kens and the 5dm2 comes with a Sigma 24-70 f2.8. I have a Sigma 18-50 for APS-c alreayd so both not a big issue.

I mainly shoot landscapes and portraits but occasionaly wildlife living in the lakes I am fortunate to have a lot around here.

Part of me feels the FF 5DM2 is the best option but money wise am i better geting the 7d which will still be a big step up from the 450d I have and investin gin some lenses?

I am on a tight time frame with letting the guy know aboutthese and just cant decide I could use some help.

thanks guys

Greg

I'd go for the 5D Mk II every time, with the 24-70mm it'll be fantastic for portrait and landscape, the 7D will be mediocre with the lenses you have and you'll find the 24-70mm won't be wide enough or long enough

:agree:

From what you've described, the 5DMKII would definitely be the better option.

Cheers,
Si

This was taken with a 1d at 24mm which is close to a 5d as I can get. I would not have been able to get the shot with the 7D

Just to show my support in your getting the 5d mark ii. Best portrait body out there for me.

By the time you've costed up the lenses, that could decide it either way.

How important is the wildlife? Big difference is while the 5D2 is better for landscape/portraits, the 7D will be much better for long lens stuff. And it's none too shabby at the other things either.

7D is the better all-rounder IMHO.

I have both but is seems like a 5d2 will be best for your needs, where in Cumbria are you?
